I’ve always used ‘Smartdraw’, a computer program, for my site plan drawings in my inspection reports.  Smartdraw was installed on my PC.  But, now I’ve switched to a Mac (Apple) desktop computer and find that Smartdraw does not make a program that runs on the Mac.  My question is, does anyone know of a decent drawing program that I can use with my new Mac desktop computer?  I do not want to buy a CAD program as I would need training to learn how to use it.  The beauty of the Smartdraw program was that it was quite user-friendly.  Plus, I don’t need a very sophistocated program just to do line drawings.  I do like to show measurements however in the drawing so the program should be able to show dimensions.

Thanks for any help I can get here.

I use a program called Draftsight which is free with registration.  It is very, very  similar to Autocad, so if you have any familiarity with that, you’ll transition to Draftsight with no problems.  I believe they have a lot of online training/support.

    Hope this helps.
